If you are a strata or body corporate manager and the property you manage has a swimming pool, then you require a Swimming Pool Compliance Certificate issued by an Authorised inspector. The Compliance Certificate will be required by any owner when they sell or lease a property so having a current Compliance Certificate is necessary. National Pool Safety (NPS) will inspect the properties’ swimming pool safety barrier and if Compliant, will issue a Certificate. The Compliance Certificate will be valid for 5 years from the date of inspection. To assist Strata/Body Corporates to continue to comply during the 5 years, National Pool Safety will conduct regular safety inspection based on number of apartments and pool usage to check that the gates still comply and nothing else has changed in and around the pool area (items within the Non-Climb Zones – NCZ etc).
